Catlins Wildlife Trackers offer a programme of "Conservation Holidays". These are conservation work opportunities. They are all based at Papatowai in the Catlins where excellent accommodation and food is provided. Conservation holidays last up to a week depending on the number of days that you have available. The conservation holidays are run by Fergus and Mary, conservationists and owner-operators of Catlins Wildlife Trackers. Conservation work is done on either Conservation land in co-operation with the Department of Conservation or privatly owned land with the co-operation of the landowners.

WORK BREAKS 2011-12

A variety of projects are generally worked on including native forest restoration, trail maintenance, work in yellow-eyed penguin habitats.

COST

We set aside some days a year for our Conservation Work Breaks which are a contribution to the environment and costs are shared between you and us. They have a charge to towards accommodation and other costs, this charge is $100, per person for per one day/night (Includes bed, breakfast, lunches, dinner).
