Catlins Wildlife Trackers offer a programme of "Conservation Holidays". These are conservation work opportunities. They are all based at Papatowai in the Catlins where excellent accommodation and food is provided. The conservation holidays are run for three day/three night periods starting at 11 am on the first day and finishing after breakfast on the last day. The conservation holidays are run by Fergus and Mary, conservationists and owner-operators of Catlins Wildlife Trackers. Conservation work is done on either Conservation land or private land.

WORK BREAKS 2009-10

A variety of projects are generally worked on including native forest restoration, trail maintenance, work in yellow-eyed penguin habitats.

COST

We set aside some days a year for our Conservation Work Breaks which are a contribution to the environment and costs are shared between you and us. They have a charge to towards accommodation and other costs, this charge is $100, per person for per one day/night (Includes bed, breakfast, lunches, dinner).
